If you can really be born with “riding in your blood” Flavio Bonaiuti is just this person. His parents were keen motorcyclists and he recalls being taken to kinder garden on the back of a bike and then riding one himself from
the age of 9!
After completing his education in Ethiopia during which time he also enjoyed exploring (and racing) across the country on bike, it seemed inevitable that a career in motorcycling was a natural progression.
This passion from childhood had allowed Flavio to become an accomplished and versatile cyclist. Another passion that Flavio nurtures is for the wild and rugged landscape of his homeland and the continent of Africa and he is never more at home than taking to the roads (preferably off road!) beyond Addis on the back of a bike…. Operating out of an office and his workshop, Flavio combines his time and duties as General Manager of
Africa Riding Adventures but is most often found leading a group of riders as Tour Leader on the adventure of a lifetime!
Africa Riding Adventures is an Ethiopian based and run company that can take you on an adventure around Ethiopia or beyond – a recent summer expedition took riders from Addis all the way around Lake Victoria.
Rides are offered for every skill and your choice of itinerary, which includes camping, or staying in hotels and Flavio works with clients on creating custom made tours. He also completely scouts each trip before his riders. His motto is “How far do you want to go”!
Flavio uses KTM enduro bikes on the tours that are renown for being the best bikes available to handle the varied
terrain of Ethiopia and Africa. (These bikes are also available for rent). An accompanying 4WD support vehicle will
always accompany tours to transport luggage, food and water and can accommodate any nonriding
participants of the
tour.
